What details are required during registration?

To open a PosoMoney account you will need to provide the following:

  • Your full name
  • Copy of ID for citizens or Passport for expatriates
  • Copy of Birth Certificate for Minors.
  • Guardian details if customer is a minor
  • Postal and Physical Address
  • Date of birth
  • Nationality
  • Mobile Number to be registered
  • Contact details
  • Next of Kin details

Do I need airtime in order to transact?

Yes. You need airtime to transact if you are using PosoMoney through the sim skin application or with the short code.  

Do I need to pay any service charges to register for PosoMoney?

No, It is Free to register for PosoMoney. You will only be charged transactional fees.

Who is eligible to hold a PosoMoney account?

Any person, who has a valid identification document, mobile phone and valid mobile phone number. 

What is a PosoMoney SimSkin?

A PosoMoney SimSkin is a thin membrane that is placed on the Customer’s SIM card  to allow the Customer to have access to PosoMoney Services.

What is PosoMoney?

PosoMoney is a mobile wallet service that works on any phone and any network, allowing the Customer to:

  • Deposit Cash into a PosoMoney account through any authorised PosoMoney Agent
  • Withdraw Cash from any authorised PosoMoney
  • Send E-money from your mobile number to any number conveniently across all networks.
  • Receive E-money from another customer
  • Pay utility bills;
  • Purchase goods from PosoMoney Merchants
  • Top up airtime for your number or any other number on any mobile network
  • Purchase prepaid electricity for any meter number
  • Pay Wages
