No, you cannot link your Bank account with PosoMoney.

What are the steps for withdrawing Money for PosoMoney Unregistered Customers?

Step 1: Customer completes the Customer Registration  Form to open a PosoMoney account
Step 2: Agent logs on their phone and selects ‘Register New Customer’
Step 3: Select ‘Register Details’
Step 4: Enter PIN
Step 5: Enter ‘Customer Mobile Number’
Step 6: Enter ‘First Name’
Step 7: Enter ‘Surname’
Step 8: Date of Birth (ddmmyyyy)
Step 9: Select type of identification – Valid ID for locals and Valid Passport for expatriates
Step 10: Enter ‘ID Number’
Step 11: Customer to enter received PIN from the sms alert
Step 12: Details displayed for verification
Step 13: SMS sent to customer for successful registration
Step 14: Complete the PosoMoney transactional booklet

Step 2: Log in to your phone and select ‘Withdraw Money’

Step 4: Choose Option - Agent
Step 5: Enter the ‘Agent Number’ of the PosoMoney you will be making the withdrawal from
Step 6: Enter ‘Withdrawal Amount’
Step 7: Details displayed for verification on your account
Step 8: SMS sent to you and agent
Step 9: Agent provides you with cash

If I purchase airtime instead of sending money can the amount be reversed?

Currently we are unable to reverse airtime transactions

What are the steps of buying airtime?

Currently PosoMoney offers voucher based  airtime sales. Direct top up will be available soon. For now follow the steps below:

 

  • Select Airtime Top Up under Prepaid Services
  • Choose MNO
  • Choose Voucher
  • Enter PIN
  • Enter Voucher Amount
  • Confirmation message will be displayed for you to verify information entered
  • An SMS will be sent with airtime token details
Can I buy airtime for a prepaid account of any network in Botswana?

Yes. PosoMoney offers airtime from all Mobile Network Operators in Botswana.

What are the steps for sending money to another mobile number?

Customer is requested to: Enter PIN; Enter Recipient Number; Enter Amount to Send; and confirmation message is displayed for customer to verify information entered; An SMS will be sent to sender and recipient with details.

What do I do if I send money erroneously to a wrong number?

PosoMoney offers you the convenience of confirming payment recipient details BEFORE sending money.
However, in the event that you send money to the wrong number we advise that you individually contact the person you sent the money to as stipulated in the Terms and Conditions 

Can you send money to unregistered customers using PosoMoney?

Yes. You can send money to an unregistered customer, but the customer will have to register in order to access the money.

Will I be able to use my PosoMoney account while roaming?

Yes, you can use your PosoMoney account while roaming.

How will I know the authenticity of a PosoMoney Agent?

You can contact Customer Care on 3911473 or visit your nearest Post Office to verify.

What are the roles of a PosoMoney Agent?

A PosoMoney Agent is an authorised person who is available for information on PosoMoney and helps with opening a PosoMoney account, Deposit/withdraw cash from your PosoMoney account, Top up airtime, Pay bills and receiving cash from another person or organization.

Am I required to maintain a minimum balance for my PosoMoney Account?

No, there is no minimum balance.

Can I have more than one PosoMoney account?

Yes. A Customer can have three accounts.

After PosoMoney registration, how do I activate my account?

Your sim skin is activated by the PosoMoney Agent and is available for immediate use. Further to that you can call 391 1473 or email posomoney@botswanapost.co.bw with your registered mobile number, name and surname. 

Do I need to have a smartphone to use the PosoMoney Facility?

No. PosoMoney is available for use on ALL mobile phones.

How do I manage my account?

The Customer Menu has the “My Accounts” tab which includes: Check Balance; My Account Number; Transactions; Settings; Change PIN, Reset PIN.
If you want to change your details i.e. KYC information, simply visit your nearest PosoMoney Agent with all the necessary documents. 

How do I access the SimSkin menu?

Android and Blackberry:
The PosoMoney Menu will appear in the App Drawer or Desktop.

IOS:
Settings – Phone – SIM Applications

Feature Phones:
Extra – PosoMoney
Or Dial #99 on your keypad

When will my SimSkin be activated?

Your SimSkin is activated immediately by the PosoMoney Agent upon completion of the Customer Registration Form and is available for immediate use
